[Balloon-makers] Racer Shape (was Singer Oiling and Gremlins)

Greetings,
Phil Thompson has a very good PowerPoint show on the "History of the Racer Shape". Our club asked Phil to give his talk a few weeks ago when he was visiting New Hampshire. His talk gets into some of the early Raven and Ultra Magic designs. There have been many mistakes/improvements made along the way. Phil gets into all the details. Lindstrand seems to have gotten things to work very well with their current product.
I agree with Don Piccard on this subject with regard to stress, etc. I'd consider buying a racer before trying to build one myself.
  Later,
  Ron Cassidy
