[balloon-makers] HPII Burner for hopper?

Kasey,
The HPII is usable but it is a big, heavy,
burner. You can mount it in a four way spring set up like a TBW-T3 but you will
need to add a handle so you can activate the blast valve and "guide" the burner
on inflation and when the mouth does odd things such as in a thermal or on
tether. When flying the weight of the burner is supported but on a firm
landing the burner may come down in the basket and a heavy burner makes this a
bit more awkward. In a conventional hopper frame this burner may be acceptable
just heavy. You can control burner output by using a regulator but size and
weight may make this one less desirable than other burners.
Fly safe,
Curtis

  Subject: [balloon-makers] HPII Burner for
  hopper?

  Greetings!

I'm about half-way through assembling panels into gores now, and with the
sewing machine in the repair shop, I will hopefully be up and running again
around the beginning of next week.

I have the chance to purchase an Aerostar HPII single burner locally for
about $100 to use on my 32k. My question is would this burner be over-kill for
a hopper? I dont want to pass it up if not. My only concern other than that is
how to mount it to a non-Aerostar frame. Perhaps going the Boland bicycle-rim
route and take the burner out of its current frame and adding
  springs like the t-3?

  Best wishes to all,
  Kasey
