For most homebuilts, one generally considers making the turning vents
two horizontal panels tall (or 10 feet). Keeping the vent width/height
ratio at least as wide as 1:4 will generally keep things happy. 30" is
a happy flap width for a ten-foot tall vent.
The STC'd Custom Nine Designs 100,000 cu. ft. 20-gore (Aerostar
S-series clone) envelope uses a 40" turning vent overlap, 10 feet tall
(giving a 1:3 width/height ratio). I've built a few of these
envelopes.
Keith - I don't remember what the exact dimension was, but looking at
pictures, LimeLight appears to have a turning vent overlap of about
30".
