[Balloon-makers] Fabric for Sale?

Don't tell them you're using it for balloons. I've already made that
mistake myself. They told me they have an exclusive contract with Head
Balloons on the 1.9oz fabric and can't sell it to anyone else for making
balloons. I don't know if that is BS or not, as it could just be that they
don't want a liability risk and are just using the Head "contract" as an
excuse. You can't really say you need 500 yds for building a tent though.
You could say you are building unmanned RC balloons or cold inflatables and
maybe they'll go for that. I told them I was building just a single
balloon for personal use and that I wouldn't be a competitor to Head. They
said they'd check with Head and call me back, then I never heard from them
again. From a business standpoint it would be retarded for Westmark to
limit sales to one customer like that, so I'm guessing this "contract" is
just an excuse they pull out when they suspect a home builder is looking
for fabric. They were willing to sell me 100yds of 1.3 for making RC
blimps though.

Noah Lamport currently has silicon coated 1.3 seconds for half the price as
Westmark, although much less color options. They have grey, black, purple
and green for $2.50/yd. Less than a 100 yd roll costs 2.75/yd. They sent
me some samples and the colors are pretty dull compared to their 1.9oz
stuff. I've never noticed any visible defects with the two rolls I've
used, so I'm not sure what knid of defect rates it as "seconds." I only
use it for making RC thermal airships, so the defects don't concern me
anyway.

Subject: [Balloon-makers] Fabric for Sale?

Anyone have any fabric they want to sell in the 100-500 yard range?

Looking for 1.3oz silicone (navy, Green, SkyBlue, and Yellow (maybe orange
or purple)

Anybody know how to get around Westmark's policy of not selling to
Balloon-builders?
